Battera is a multi-billionaire spending as much as is needed to buy as many copies of Greed Island as necessary. He makes the players sign a contract stating: don't complain if you get hurt or die, he gets to decide what cards you take with you, you get 50 billion jenny upon completion. It is revealed he spends so much money on this to get the Archangel's Breath card, to cure his comatose lover. She ends up dying before anyone has finished, and he buys his way out of the contract.
